Tow truck criminals

by admin

I saw a segment on the 6:00 news tonight that absolutely got under my skin.

The news media is almost as bad as congress. Tonight they mentioned how people are stealing cars with tow-trucks.

Now the initial write up is good: it covers the details and facts. But the last 45 seconds is pure ignorance.

The news anchors on tonights live broadcast proceed to quote “looks like we need tougher laws that crack down on scrap yards”.

And to this most ignorant statement, I must ask: what the fuck?

Have you lost your mind? No seriously – have you?

Now if somebody stole YOUR television and sold it to me, I would be in possession of stolen property.

If I bought a stolen car for “parts”, I would likewise be in possession of stolen property.

If my buddy down the road who owns an auto repair garage bought this same stolen vehicle, they would also be in possession of stolen property.

In any of these above cases, the person in possession of the stolen goods would be charged for possession of stolen property. After all, possession IS 9/10 of the law.

So why in the fuck are scrap yards “exempt” from this?

Ben Hall – the reporter/investigator – goes on to explain how police cited employees for keeping poor records.  Perhaps you should have simply charged their ass with possession of a stolen car?

You may be rather surprised how this problem would fix itself if police enforced the laws that are already in place.

“Needing more legislation and laws” sounds just like the sorry-asses in congress.  Always trying to pussy-foot around the simplest and most logical solution in order to be “politically correct” and/or justify their jobs.
